About Me
Over the years I have picked up, mastered, and perfected many skills that have benefited me both in my professional and personal life. Some of these skills include interpersonal communication, organizational, and project management skills, an almost OCD-like attention to detail and ability to multi-task between several projects simultaneously. I have an exceptional talent for writing and communication, and thanks to graduate school, stronger analytical, problem solving and leadership skills.
I strive to contribute to change. Good change that will make a difference in the company and for the people it serves. And because of my relentless motivation for accomplishing tasks and goals, attitude for success, and taking initiative actions, contributing to change shouldn’t be that difficult, right?
I accomplished my masters degree from the University of Denver in Organizational and Professional Communication. My capstone/thesis paper is titled “The Effects of Social Media Marketing: Campaign Strategies for the Increase of eCommerce, Brand Awareness and Brand Loyalty.” Let me just say… Do you have any idea how many companies and businesses are using social media completely wrong?! As an undergrad, I attended the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) and double majored in Public Relations and in Technical Communication. At UTSA, I was Features Editor for the Paisano, an independent student school newspaper. I was also involved in the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) as Director of Communication and Membership, and a member of the Lambda Pi Eta Communication Honor Society.
I spend most of my free time reading and writing. Mostly writing, but a lot of reading too. Dean Knootz is my favorite author. Have you read any of his books? I highly recommend the Odd Thomas series.
Fun Facts
- I grew up in Saudi Arabia, yet Texas heat still bothers me. I’d much rather live in Colorado or California!
- I would probably cry if you took away my coffee.
- If I have time, I love to do absolutely nothing!
- I’ve watched the Grey’s Anatomy, Buffy, and Charmed series at least ten times…
- I enjoy painting, writing, taking random photos, gardening, cooking, and dressing up my dog.
- I hoard empty boxes…
- I cut my own hair.
- I’ve published two books.
